2017 Spring & Summer Coached Training Sessions.
Extensive research shows the value of using all energy and muscle systems to improve your running, avoid injury, and make you a better athlete. HOWEVER this type of training must be done carefully with an appropriate level of stress increase for the athlete to realize the most benefit and not to get injured in the process.
WCRC coach Mike McCormick will lead a weekly series of coached training sessions on 7 successive Tuesday evenings, starting Tuesday May 2nd and running through June 13th. Sessions will meet at 6:00 PM at the Nock Middle School parking area and will be held on nearby roads, trails and track. Workouts adjusted for fitness levels, paces, and goals. Suggested training week schedules available to enhance these workouts. Bio-mechanics (proper running form) emphasized. Workouts and updated information will be posted regularly on this website. Mike is a USATF certified coach with experience coaching at all levels including 30 years of high school track and 20 years of Club level coaching. These workouts are for all abilities and adjusted for personal fitness levels, speed and goals
Athletes will be assigned to an ability group based on speed. Working together make workouts more enjoyable and productive!

$10 per session (pay as you go) or $50 upfront for all seven sessions.
New this year; Summer sessions! Following a one week break, workouts will begin again starting June 27th and run until July 25th. $10 per session or $30 upfront for all 5 sessions.
And something completely new will be Wednesday training nights for kids and adults which will focus more on power, sprinting, and technique. Fellow high school sprint coach (and still active sprinter) Brian Moore and Mike are excited to try this and bring sprint related technique to adults and kids alike. This session will begin June 14 and continue on Wednesdays until July 26- also 6p.m.
