Canceled for 2021

Hello All,

What a 2020 we have had!!! Normally by this time I would be knee deep in planning and organizing the 2020 Santa’s Toy Trot 2-4-6 Mile Road Race however it is with deep regret that I notify all of you that the 2020 Race has been canceled. Though the race has been canceled the Merrimac Holiday Helper program needs us more than ever this year. The Program is very dependent on the Santa’s Toy Trot because of the toys we donate each year not to mention the financial donation that is given annually. As you know the Merrimac Holiday Helper Program has been the beneficiary of the Santa’s Toy Trot year after year since the beginning of the race more than 20 years ago. Without the race the Program Director is greatly concerned about not having an ample supply of toys to donate to the families in need. As a result, I have decided to coordinate the inaugural Santa’s Toy Drive.

I plan to set up a donation box inside the Winner’s Circle Sports Bar, 211 Elm St., Salisbury, MA Attn: Santa’s Toy Drive beginning on 11/1/2020. Toys can simply be placed into the donation box while the Sports Bar is open. For those of you who are unable to make it to the club you can either have your items delivered to the club, at the above address, or I can pick up any toys you might like to donate from your home. You just have notify me that you have a donation and I will arrange a pick up. The donation box will be available to you beginning 11/1/2020 and ending on 12/13/2020.

Additionally, the Program can also use cash donations. Any amount will do! Please mail your cash donations to the club at the above address with checks made out to the Merrimac Holiday Helper Program, Attn: Patricia Lavoie. Kathy, Program Director of the Merrimac Holiday Helper Program, is convinced that this year the need for holiday support will be considerable. She is grateful for any help anyone can provide. I know that we will make her proud and help the families involved in the Holiday Helper Program have a wonderful holiday. Also, gift cards are welcome!!!

If anyone has any questions I can be reached by email at palzcares@comcast.net or on my cell phone at 978-290-1797.

Happy Holidays!!!

Tricia
