WCRC Coach Mike McCormick is a USATF certified coach with experience coaching at all levels including 30 years of high school track and 20 years of Club level coaching.
Mike also has 35 years of experience as a competitive runner including over 50 marathons. His PRs include: 5K – 15:54; 5mile – 26:22; 10mi – 55:45; Mt. Wash. – 1:14; marathon – 2:44.
Coaching Philosophy: A belief in realistic, sustainable training. No runner wants to be injured and we all want to improve. Most runners are in it for the long haul. So a tough balance must be struck. With this in mind workouts will always be prescribed within the context of the rest of your running week/life as well as your athletic background. Dynamic warm-up and cool-down activities will be demonstrated and recommended for some.
